Terms and Conditions
Clients will be deemed to have accepted Happy Tails terms and conditions for each service and the general terms and conditions on booking of services.
The client gives Happy Tails permission to enter their property to carry out the booked service at the arranged date and time.
All dogs must wear a collar and tag with the telephone number and home address of the owner engraved upon it.
All dogs must be provided with a collar or harness and lead. Happy Tails is not held liable for any injury or any damage caused or incurred by the client's dog escaping due to an ill-fitting or faulty collar or lead.
Terms and Conditions - walking
Happy Tails will not confirm any booking until there has been a consultation with the owner who must disclose any behavioural or medical condition that may make their dog unsuitable for group walks. This would include antisocial behaviour, aggression, possessive behaviour, lack of training and conditions such as incontinence, chronic vomiting or travel/mobility problems.
Happy Tails must be informed if your dog does or has ever used a muzzle and this should be made available for use at our discretion.
Happy Tails reserve the right to refuse or discontinue walks for any dog deemed to be unsuitable for group walks.
The client must provide Happy Tails with a name and contact telephone number of someone capable of making a decision relating to their dog in an emergency. A nominated vet’s details will also be recorded and they will be contacted if we are unable to communicate with the owner or their representative.
Where possible walks are carried out in areas where dogs can be safely walked off the lead. Signed agreement from the owners must be obtained before allowing dogs off lead in enclosed and safe areas.
Unless there are exceptional circumstances walks are at least 1 hour in length not including pick up and drop off.
In extreme weather (e.g. very hot weather or heavy snow) walks may be shorter to ensure the comfort of the dogs. This will be at Happy Tails discretion. Full charges will be applied.
All dogs being exercised must be fully vaccinated (including kennel cough), be on regular flea and worm control treatment and be microchipped.
Clients must inform Happy Tails if their dog contracts any infectious condition (e.g. Kennel cough, conjunctivitis). Any dog with an infectious condition will not be walked until cleared to do so by a vet.
Towels should be provided if you wish your dog to be wiped down following the walk especially in adverse weather, these should be left near the front door. Your dog will be returned as clean and dry as possible, owners will be contacted if in such cases your dog can not be thoroughly cleaned and left in the same way before being taken out.
Though we endeavour to ensure the safety of all dogs, letting dogs walk off the lead carries a risk therefore we will only do this with your written permission.
Terms and conditions – boarding
All T&C’s as above
Owners must supply all bedding, food and bowls.
If your dog causes damage to Happy Tails home or belongings, other than reasonable wear and tear, you agree to reimburse any reasonable cost incurred.
If you collect your dog before the confirmed end date of the board you will not receive a refund.
If your dog is aggressive or bites during its board it will be moved to a kennel and a transfer fee of £20.00 will be payable by yourself upon your return. There will be no refund of the boarding fees you have paid to Happy Tails and any additional fees charged by the kennels will be payable by you.
Happy Tails will use all care to ensure the happiness, safety and welfare of your dog/s. If however your dog becomes unwell or has an accident during his board we will take him to a Veterinary Surgery. You agree to be responsible for payment of veterinary fees incurred upon your return. We do recommend that your dog is insured against sickness, accident, injury and third party liability prior to the start of the board. The consultation form gives Happy Tails authorisation to take your dog/s to the Vet's, including for treatment for external parasites, if necessary, whilst also confirming you will either reimburse Happy Tails any fees or pay the Veterinary Surgery directly, which-ever applies.
Although we make every effort to ensure your dog/s is cared for to our usual high standards we cannot be liable for loss, injury or death.
Cancellations and holiday absence
Walking - Happy Tails requires 24 hours notice when cancelling walks otherwise full payment will be charged.
All absences over 2 weeks where the dog will be returning to the group walk, a holding fee of £2 a day will be charged to keep the space available after the initial 2 weeks.
Boarding – Happy Tails requires 7 days notice when cancelling boarding, anything shorter than this you will be liable for full payment.
The walker and vehicle are insured for the safe transport of your animal. Animals are fully insured to travel in any vehicle driven by Happy Tails. Unless you state otherwise, these terms and conditions assume that you, the client, have given permission for this.
Happy Tails has comprehensive insurance covering public liability, holding of keys, vet fees and loss or straying, however we advise all clients to have their pets insured and reserve the right to refuse a booking for any animal who is not insured.

You will be invoiced at the end of each month.
You can use the following methods: cash or online transfer
Full payment should be made within 48 hours of the invoice being issued. Late payment will incur a charge of £2.50 after 48 hours and 50p per day after this.
Keys & Parking
Keys retained by Happy Tails will be kept securely and only be marked with the name of your dog if necessary
Permits may need to be provided for your walker if you are in a restricted parking zone. This will be assessed as necessary.
